Shambhala Sun
Writers Guidelines
The Shambhala Sun is the magazine about waking up. It celebrates the spirit of wakefulness wherever it appears - in the arts, relationships, politics, livelihood, popular culture, and all the challenges of modern life.
Inspired by the wisdom and compassion of Buddhist practice, the
Shambhala
Sun is devoted to the principle that true human wisdom is not
the property of any one religion or culture. Beyond distinctions of
secular and sacred, the Shambhala Sun is the place where ancient wisdom
shares the stage with some of today's finest teachers and writers.
The Shambhala Sun has the courage to acknowledge the hard truths -
and still declare that life is joyous and workable. It's a view that's
both hopeful and realistic - so rare in this cynical world - combined
with proven, practical ways to work with our lives in a positive way.
From bell hooks and Dr. Rachel Naomi Remen to Ken Wilber and the Dalai
Lama, great spiritual teachers and today's best writers and thinkers
offer Shambhala Sun readers penetrating insight and practical advice on
all the challenges of modern
life.
