The Christian Science Monitor--Home Forum

Founded in 1908, The Christian Science Monitor is an international daily newspaper published Monday through Friday. Everything in the Monitor is international and US news and features, except for one religious article that has appeared each day in The Home Forum section since 1908, at the request of the paper's founder, Mary Baker Eddy. In an age of corporate conglomerates dominating news media, the Monitor combination of church ownership, a public-service mission, and commitment to covering the world gives the paper a uniquely independent voice in journalism.

The Home Forum publishes personal essays and poetry. There is also a daily Christian Science article.

Positive News International

Positive News began life as a quarterly international newspaper in 1993 reporting on the people, events and influences that are helping to create a more positive future for the world and its people. Since those early days, Positive News has gone from strength to strength. The brainchild of Shauna Crockett-Burrows, the paper now has a circulation of 75,000 worldwide, and continues to expand in response to a global yearning for a new world organized on the principles of democracy and social justice; respect for diversity and the earth's natural resources; and a new definition of power.

One of the most widely recognized alternative newspapers, Positive News reports on issues rarely covered by the mainstream media and promotes the many enterprises that are working for a sustainable future.

The UK edition of the paper is published by Positive News Publishing Ltd, a not-for-profit company based in the United Kingdom, which supports several Overseas editions around the world in countries including the United States, Spain and shortly Hong Kong creating a web of positive news reporting from interconnected global communities. With each issue, subscribers also receive a free copy of the 36-page full color magazine Living Lightly.
